Shutterous: Snap. Share. Save. Instantly and collectively.
Why Shutterous?
Shutterous allows anyone with a smart phone to instantly snap and share photos with other people at any event. It’s a free, easy answer to the problem of how to get everyone’s photos in a shared album—instantly.
And taking photos is just the beginning. You can also comment on photos, share the event album with friends who couldn’t come, make music videos out of your photo albums, and do a whole slew of other stuff that we’re working on.
How it All Started
A great couple named Mike and Amy were getting married. Like any couple who loves their friends, loves photos, and loves the photos that their friends take, they wanted their friends to help capture all the great, candid wedding moments (like only people who are patiently awaiting their turn at the buffet can). Mike and Amy also wanted a way to instantly share the photos with all the other wedding guests and some folks who couldn’t make it to the wedding.
Since disposable cameras are so 2005, and there’s no easy way to contribute photos to a shared album on Facebook, Mike and Amy realized that they had a problem (AKA an opportunity). So Mike, being the techie/entrepreneurial type, decided to create an app that would allow all their wedding guests to take photos during the wedding and reception and save them in a collective album.
And voila: Shutterous was born.

Why We Do Shutterous
- We believe that mobile technology should help bring people together rather than isolate them from each other.
- We believe that the best thing about photos is that they capture life events: big ones, small ones, happy ones, important ones, and random ones.
- We love helping people share their life events with each other more easily.
